1 Dearest adepts, as the 25th of December draws near, the Prophet and the Grand Masters wish to send you their very best, reminding you that Anubism looks kindly on any way of celebrating this season and welcomes them all: whether it is the (re)birth of Ra or of Jesus, Sol Invictus, the Iranian Shab-e Yalda or the arrival of Father Christmas, what matters is popping open a nice big bottle enjoying the Magic of this magical season.
2 The Prophet takes the opportunity of this bender of this special moment to remember Christmas 1914 when, with the First World War in full swing, the greatest act of disobedience to military orders took place, known as “the Great Christmas Truce”.
3 On one side were people forced by German “commanders” to kill or die, on the other were people forced by British and French “commanders” to kill or die.
4 On Christmas Day, both sides stopped fighting.
5 The men met, exchanged gifts, buried their dead together and even played a famous football match.
6 All of it without any permission from the “commanders”, who were of course terrified by what was happening: it showed, with enormous force, that those people had no reason whatsoever to hate and kill one another.
7 This story gave the Prophet a lot to think about, and he is endlessly amazed at how normal it becomes, in most people's eyes, to kill one another in a war if a State says so.
8 Let us try listing a few crimes against humanity:
- Forming an armed gang for the purpose of mass murder
- Reducing soldiers to slavery
- Mass murder or genocide
- Propaganda and incitement to violence
- Torture and inhuman treatment…
9 The point of this message is not to ask whether there is really much difference between a state and a private organisation, but to remember how weak and ridiculous these organisations become in the face of the Magic of Christmas.
10 As is well known, Anubism promotes the existence of Father Christmas, embodied in the person of Saint Nicholas, bishop of Myra, who lived around 300 AD.
11 “Father Christmas has never forbidden anything to anyone; he has appeared in all sorts of cultures without ever doing harm, and historically that is a rare event.
12 That makes Father Christmas a hero of the resistance against conditioning.”
13 The doddering old fool Prophet and the Grand Masters wish that the Magic of Christmas may stretch across the rest of the coming 2025, shielding you from anyone who wants to condition you into wanting anything other than a life of Anubistic peace.
14 May Anubis be with you.
15 The Prophet and the Grand Masters.
